Nature Always Wins

This electrical box was painted as a part of Tour Elentrik project.
I chose to paint a sort of glass green house with a hole in it. This man made structure is taken over by nature. There are plants growing out of the box and it is covered with snails. These little creatures also have their spiritual meaning: they move in their own pace unbothered by the tempo of the world around them. The house of a snail stands for safety and home. It is a reminder that safety and comfort are to be found within ourselves. They also symbolise growth and transformation. A snail invites us to question ourselves of what kind of trail are we leaving behind us. And last but not least, these little creatures are also very important to our ecosystem. The ladybug at the back of the box stands for protection, resilience, transformation and luck. All of those things are nice to add to the park van Eden in Wilrijk.
